Job description: Seven Criminal Justice are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Drug & Alcohol Support Worker to join our team in Bedfordshire. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting individuals suffering from drug and alcohol dependence as they transform their lives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Deliver one-to-one structured support to service users with drug and alcohol addiction issues, providing practical advice and guidance.
2. Develop personalised recovery plans, setting goals, and regularly reviewing progression.
3. Provide support in areas such as health, housing, education, and employment.
4. Work in close partnership with other local and national organisations to ensure service users receive the best possible support.
5. Facilitate and run group sessions and workshops on topics such as relapse prevention, harm reduction, and health promotion.
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions and interventions with service users, ensuring utmost confidentiality is maintained.
7. Engage in professional development activities, such as training, to continue to provide excellent support and adhering to best practices.
Person Specification:
1. Proven experience working in a similar role, demonstrating an understanding of the issues affecting those with substance misuse issues.
2. Recognised qualification in Care, Social work or a related field would be advantageous.
3. Passionate, patient, understanding, and with an empathetic approach to dealing with service users.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
6. Knowledge of local support services and referral pathways for clients.
7. Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
