Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has requested a vibrant atmosphere ahead of their Carabao Cup clash against Middlesbrough.
Pochettino suggested that the flat atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, could be a result of Chelsea’s poor home form in the past.
Despite being unbeaten in their last eight home games, Chelsea had a rough patch at Stamford Bridge in 2023, winning just three times in the first 11 months of the year.
Meanwhile, the Argentine manager has pointed at the team’s improvement at home since October, with a noticeable increase in results.
However, he acknowledged that the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge has been somewhat subdued, especially during recent victories where the team lacked creativity.
Chelsea faces Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup needing a two-goal victory to overturn a 1-0 first-leg defeat.
Pochettino emphasized the importance of fan support in such crucial matches, calling for an energetic atmosphere at Stamford Bridge to boost the team’s spirit and performance.
