A video circulating online captures the moment Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered the removal of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, from the Senate chamber.
The incident occurred after she disrupted the plenary session in protest of an unauthorized change to her seating arrangement.
According to reports, the disruption began when Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Ali Monguno, raised a point of order, citing what he called the “improper seating position” of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Before he could complete his statement, she interrupted with a heated confrontation, prompting the Sergeant-at-Arms to step in and attempt to escort her out.
Despite Senate President Akpabio’s efforts to restore order, Akpoti-Uduaghan resisted, demanding an explanation for the change to her seat without her consent.
The viral video also shows other lawmakers trying to calm her down, but she ignored their efforts, instead defending her reaction and insisting on justification for the seat alteration.
