Nigerian producer and singer, Phillip Kayode Moses, professionally known as Pheelz, has opined that Nigerian artistes are becoming repetitive in their style of music.

According to him, musicians are losing their true love for what they do and seem to be losing their creative soul.

While appearing on a segment of ‘The Dadaboy Show’, which was presented by media personality Ehiz, Pheelz discussed his insights.

Pheelz claims that contemporary Nigerian musicians are less engaged in the creative process and more focused on the lucrative music industry.

He bemoaned the lack of distinction between artists, business owners, and manufacturers.

He, however, warned that marketing strategies are fleeting, as he emphasized that only good music will stand the test of time.

Pheelz said;

“We [Nigerian artistse] are losing that love for music. It’s starting to become manufacturing. It’s starting to feel like we’re manufacturing soaps like we are making iPhones.

It’s starting to feel repetitive like we’re losing our creative sauce and our creative essence. It’s becoming work. Now, it’s harder to promote than to even make the music. Now, it’s becoming about promotion and marketing, not even about the art of it.

I don’t know about anybody else but for me, it’s about the music. I think that’s the most important thing. That’s the one thing that will stand the test of time. Marketing strategies will come and go. We shouldn’t be really focused on that. The way we market music now was not the same way we used to market music.

When people say stuff like, ‘It doesn’t even matter if the music sounds good, if you no get money to push am e no go blow.’ That kind of thing hurts me. I’m like, then what are we doing? If we don’t really exalt good music anymore and we just follow clout and hype what are we doing? Are we really making music then?”

Tinubu appoints SSA on disability matters

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mohammed Isa to serve as his Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters.

The appointment was disclosed on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President, Media & Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, at the State House, Abuja.

Ngelale stated that the appointment follows Tinubu’s determination to ensure that every segment of society is sufficiently catered to within the ambit of the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration,

The statement read that the new SSA is a “distinguished champion of persons with disabilities with over a decade of experience in local and international advocacy on matters concerning persons with disabilities.

“The new presidential aide is a graduate of Public Administration with honours from the University of Maiduguri where he would go on to earn a Master in Public Administration at the same institution in 2017.”

Ngelale noted that the President “tasks the new appointee to proactively create avenues of opportunity for inclusion through the inculcation of PWD requirements and perspectives in the policies and programmes of all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Government while working closely with sub-national authorities to build a national consensus on PWD-friendly policy and environmental conditions in collaboration with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).”

Passengers stranded as labour unions picket Abuja airport

Passengers at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja are currently stranded and unable to continue their journeys due to an ongoing protest by labour unions.

The protesters are reportedly members of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress.

This is following the recent attack on the National President of the NLC, Joe Ajaero, in Imo State.

The Punch reports that aviation unions across the country jointly declared the suspension of all flights to Owerri, Imo State, from every airport in Nigeria.

Kim Kardashian, 43, has said she is committed to staying single for at least another year.

 

On Thursday’s episode of “The Kardashians,” the mother-of-four opened up about her dating life.

 

While chatting with her longtime friend and hairstylist Chris Appleton ahead of his wedding to “The White Lotus” actor Lukas Gage, the reality star revealed plans for her own love life.

 

“So you think you’ve got one more wedding inside you?” Appleton, 40, asked the the Skims founder, to which she responded, “I don’t know, I think I go back and forth.”

 

“This is the best you’ve ever been,” Appleton added, saying Kardashian is at her peak right now.

 

“You look amazing, you’re in control of everything, you have the kids down, the business down, and I don’t know, I just feel like you’re in a good place, happy,” he added.

 

Admitting she’s finally “in a calm place,” Kardashian said, “So maybe that’s when it’s good to invite energy [in].”

 

Speaking in a confessional later, Kim was asked where she was in her “two years of wanting to be single.”

 

Forgetting that she previously said that, the producer reminded her that she made the comment “probably a year” ago.

 

“Ok, so I’ve got a year to go,” she said. “I think that will be really good for me. [I’m] not looking, they seem to find me, but I’m not looking!”

 

It comes as the billionaire businesswoman was seen getting cozy with Odell Beckham Jr. at his 31st birthday party Wednesday night, Nov. 8.

The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed a new Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Olatunji Disu

IGP Egbetokun has also appointed seven police officers to lead different commands as part of the ongoing measures towards strengthening security, tackling violent crimes, and enhancing optimal coordination of police operations across Nigeria.

The new appointments were contained in a signal already dispatched and sighted by Daily Post.

It said the redeployment of the senior police officers is with immediate effect.

In the signal, the police boss charged the new CPs to demonstrate professional competence in their new offices they have been assigned to lead across the country.

The Rivers State new CP will be replacing CP Nwonyi Emeka, a week after Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State accused some police officers of attempting to kill him when he went to access the level of damage done to the State House of Assembly following an explosion that greatly affected the hallowed chambers.

The State House of Assembly had also attempted to impeach Governor Fubara, leading to days of protests by youths in the state, which led to the arrest of 150 youths and the death of a youth by a stray bullet from police.
