About the Role
As a Business Administration Apprentice at Costello Medical, you will provide essential and ad-hoc support to the Operations and Scientific divisions, contributing to the company’s business development efforts and client relations. You will be working closely with our Client Engagement team, assisting with a range of administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and running reports. You will also support the wider Operations and Scientific divisions with client product pipeline research, lead generation, developing training materials, as well as further ad-hoc tasks, where required.
The successful candidate will work towards Level 3 of the Business Administration qualification, provided by Cambridge Regional College (CRC). Further details about the apprenticeship can be found here:
Regular on-site training and mentorship will be provided by both CRC and Costello Medical to support your course and project work. Following completion of the apprenticeship, you could be given the opportunity to apply for a permanent position at Costello Medical with the option of further study.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting various scientific teams with business development initiatives
- Running reports and collating information about client companies
- Updating records, including our contacts database and contract management system
- Scheduling meetings, collating agendas, attending meetings, and minute taking
- Composing, responding to, and filing emails
- Creating documents and presentations, as well as reviewing documents for accuracy
- Other ad-hoc tasks in support of the wider Operations and Scientific divisions
You will be given close support and mentorship by your colleagues in the Operations team, as well as structured training and guidance on all tasks. You will also attend training as dictated by the course requirements.

Essential requirements for the role are:
- Grade 6 or higher (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Experience using the Microsoft Office suite

The Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process includes a telephone interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team. If successful, you will be invited to an interview with senior members of our Strategic Operations division, immediately followed by a short assessment for you to complete.
We are currently recruiting for our February 2024 start date, and the apprenticeship will run for approximately 18 months.
