Bruno Fernandes has turned down a staggering £700,000-per-week contract offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, opting instead to remain at Manchester United.
TalkSPORT reports that the United captain, 30, consulted his family before rejecting the lucrative move.
Despite Al-Hilal’s readiness to table a £100 million bid for the Portuguese playmaker, Fernandes remains committed to playing in a top European league.
Newly appointed United boss Ruben Amorim has also made Fernandes’ retention a non-negotiable priority as he looks to rebuild after a turbulent 2024/25 season.
The club captain was one of the few consistent performers, notching 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions while missing just three games out of 60.
Fernandes, who has two years left on his current contract, had previously hinted at uncertainty over his future after United’s Europa League final defeat, but reiterated his desire to fight for the club unless told otherwise.
“The day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this… but I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go,” he stated.
