Brittany Renner has confirmed that she and rapper Kevin Gates are officially divorced—just 52 days after getting married.
Speaking in a newly released interview with DJ Bootleg Kev on Los Angeles radio station REAL 92.3, the Basketball Wives star revealed they tied the knot on April 6 but separated on May 28.
Renner, who is a devout Muslim, explained that she is currently observing a 90-day reconciliation period in accordance with Islamic law to determine whether the marriage can be salvaged.
“I followed my heart, and that’s more than what most people can say in this world,” the 33-year-old said. “I have no shame in that.”
She emphasized that she has no regrets about the brief union, saying the experience has given her time to reconnect with herself.
“The divorce wasn’t planned,” she added. “But I don’t feel like it’s a sucky situation because what is meant to be is always going to be. I gave 100 percent [in the marriage]. All is well.”
As of now, Kevin Gates has not publicly addressed their split.
