Responsibilities
- You will serve as the Board Executive to supervise, plan, direct, and monitor program activities for the Panel of Dietetics, Board of Long Term Health Care Administrators, Board of Opticianry, and Board of Optometry.
- You will review program efficiency and effectiveness and recommend and implement changes as needed or appropriate.
- You will respond to questions and concerns from licensees, members of the legislature, and the general public.
- You will lead and supervise a team that provides routine to complex administrative functions for the assigned program areas.
- You will work with other Agency employees to establish resolution guidelines for complaints and assist with the issuance of Cease and Desist Orders.
- You will monitor the development or amendment of statutes and regulations that could impact the assigned program areas and represent the Boards and Agency in legislative matters and with professional organizations.
- You will perform other executive duties such as managing revenue and expenditures, keeping information current for written and online platforms, and assisting with long-range plans and strategic objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s of Business Administration and/or health care regulations, legal experience, and/or other related experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the practices, principles, and theories of management.
- Ability to supervise professional, technical, and clerical employees.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulatory law, the health profession, and/or the Dietetics/LTHC/Opticianry/Optometry/Practice Acts.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Other Requirements
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- Occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- Occasional overnight travel to state and national meetings.
- May be required to lift, carry, move, and/or position objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
