About the role:
Join the Accounting Operations and Procurement team in the bilingual Senior Manager, Vendor Risk position. In this role, you will manage the delivery of design, implementation, maintenance, and oversight of the vendor risk management program ensuring alignment with CMHC’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework and compliance to updated OSFI B10 Guideline requirements effective May 2024. You will play a key role in optimizing the program to ensure standards, framework and related processes are effectively implemented for risk identification, assessment, remediation and reporting.
What you’ll do:
- Implement and support the ongoing development of the vendor risk management program, including new OSFI B10 requirements, risk mitigation strategies, tools, policies, and processes.
- Ensure the coordination of corporate activities related to vendor risk management planning, measurement, and reporting, including the ongoing monitoring of targets and the development and achievement of service/program standards.
- Drive the development and communication of risk management and compliance standards, and reporting requirements, in compliance with updated OSFI B10 Guideline Third Party Risk Management.
- Provide strategic program direction, timely and effective functional guidance and advice to senior management, the Board, and other internal and external partners.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal and external strategic partners, working to reduce risks, improve vendor performance, drive innovation, and help deliver responsive solutions that maximize value.
- Act as a catalyst for organizational change by building a shared vision with colleagues and influencing the translation of vision into action.
- Lead the vendor risk management team, working collaboratively and cross-functionally to provide strategic guidance, advice, training, and support.
What you should have:
- An undergraduate degree preferably in finance, business administration, commerce, computer science, management information systems or a related field.
- A minimum of ten years of relevant experience with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience.
- A demonstrated experience in assessing and reviewing governance, work processes, controls, risk management and/or audit.
- A demonstrated experience and skills providing strategic risk advice, recommendations, guidance and services to senior management on highly complex risk through presentations, reports, and briefings.
- Experience and/or knowledge within one or more of the following risk domains: third-party risk management, audit management, risk management, compliance management.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in both official languages (French and English), including ability to influence, negotiate and present information to a variety of audiences in a concise and professional manner.
- A demonstrated ability to develop and foster trusting relationships with clients, and with internal and external partners.
It would be great if you also had:
- A professional designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
