Barcelona have reached a full agreement with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal on a new long-term contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.
According to multiple sources including Fabrizio Romano and ESPN, the deal, finalised on Monday following a meeting with Jorge Mendes, is set to be officially signed on Tuesday.
Yamal, 17, will reportedly become Barcelona’s highest-paid player, surpassing Robert Lewandowski’s €33 million annual salary.
The contract includes a Ballon d’Or bonus clause, a clear indication of the club’s belief in Yamal’s long-term potential.
Other performance-based incentives are also part of the deal.
Yamal had a breakout season, tallying 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 appearances, helping the Blaugrana to a domestic treble and a Champions League semi-final finish.
With the futures of manager Hansi Flick, Raphinha and now Yamal secured, Barcelona now shift focus to offloading high-earning or fringe players to meet Financial Fair Play requirements, and fund further squad reinforcements.
