Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie has addressed the viral rumours of being evicted from her Lagos home due to unpaid rent of N4.5M.
The rumours surfaced after popular Instagram blogger Cutie Jullss alleged that the actress had been thrown out of her rented house after failing to pay rent for two years.
The blogger claimed that Angela had been avoiding her landlord due to financial difficulties.
Angela Okorie allegedly sent packing over unpaid rent
In a lengthy post, the blogger wrote:
“So the rent is actually N4.5m that is 4,500,000 Naira. When she accidentally k**i an old man with her car in Asaba, they found out that the only cash she had in her bank account was N20k and she had about N62K in cash with her at home.
“So the ex husband started suggesting to her to try and move into a smaller house where the rent will be cheaper so he can continue to support with the payment of the rent as she always argue that if he doesn’t pay the rent, he will never see their son.
“Hmm Angela refused to move into a cheaper accommodation with her reasons being that her residence must befits her status.
“When the 2nd accident happened and the ex husband had to again step in to settle, he again raised the topic of her moving into a cheaper accommodation and she still refused. She also refused cutting down on lifestyle. She even got more upset when her ex-husband later bought a house in Lekki and moved in with his new wife.
“We also gathered that while Angela was still married to her ex husband and business went bad for him, actor Mike Ez used to come and do the do with her in her matrimonial home. When the husband complained, Angela will thre@ten to give police more evidence that the man was dealing in illicit drügs.
“She was reportedly seeing other big men but Mike Ez’s own was the main issue as he was coming to their home, go upstairs to the bedroom and do his business with Angela.
“That’s by the way. The whole issue for today’s unfortunate incident is because despite all, the ex husband did not refuse to pay the rent entirely. He actually suggested that Angela and their son should move into a cheaper accommodation so that he will be able to continue to support with the rent as he doesn’t want their son to become homeless.
Angela still refused this offer so they man stopped paying the rent entirely. Hmm 🥲.”
Angela dispels rumours of being homeless, evicted by landlord
In response, Angela took to her Instagram stories to refute the claims. She dismissed the report as false, emphasizing that no landlord in Lagos would tolerate a tenant staying for two years without paying rent.
Angela further clarified that she wasn’t present when her belongings were reportedly thrown out, suggesting that the situation may have been misrepresented.
Her posts aimed to debunk the rumours, with the actress confidently shutting down the speculation surrounding her living situation.
